Hey guys,
Rochelle here. If you’re a reader of our blog, you know we’re usually talking or sharing insights into what is happening in the world marketing and PR. But, I wanted to share something a little different.
On March 17th, I was invited to the launch of the New Balance 200R with Office, hosted at Farm Girl Cafe in Soho. Now, I’m a bit of a sneaker head (love me some kicks) and so to be invited and attend this event was great.
This was a well organised event by both brands and it was a pleasure to go along. We heard talks from the New Balance team, Office team and Digital creator and sneaker lover Charlotte (Good Manners Style). Not to mention a 2002 playlist of dreams - just banger after banger!
We talk a lot about creating Brand activations and why you should be creating them to reach not only your key audience, but wider audience(s). Yes, social media is great, but getting in front of them is key to building relationships on a more personal level and in real time. There was great mix of people, with great incentives for attendees like winning the fresh pair New Balance 2002R, free merch and branded toto bags full of goodies (yes, I bagged myself a Tote and). All based on a free drink, branded drink sleeve and a little luck. It really engaged every one that attended and encouraged people to buy more drinks to see what else they could win.
This was a well thought out brand activation/partnership for the launch of the @newbalance 2002R sneakers with @officeshoes. From what I understand it went around the country to key locations to announce the launch of these kicks with many in attendance.
The level of user generated content from events like this are also key to help with social marketing, content and success of the event/campaign that has been created.
When times are tough the investment of working with agency (like us) can help maximise marketing budgets and support the growth for long term success. Short term thinking in times like recessions and cost of living is not putting your brand ahead of the game. Although, there are certain areas that consumers are cutting back on, Gen Z consumers actually have the biggest spending power right now and will look to invest in the brands that they relate to and engage with and see often. Mix that in with working with key creators, creating IRL (in real life) events and activations and creating partnerships with other brands (no… not giveaways and comps).
It was a vibe and a great way to spend an evening.
Thanks to the teams at Office, New Balance, Farm Girl Cafe and the partners that helped put this together.
